Back in the day (Summer '02), Matt and Joe got together and formed Last Chance, a band that started with the two guys learning cover songs and playing together for fun. Then they got Ryan as their drummer, but he wasn't very good so they kicked him out for what lasted for about a week. Ryan then came back into the band as the lead singer. Last Chance began playing covers together and had Joe's cousin Tom play drums for them a few times. Then, due to a lot of trouble finding a permanent drummer, the trio began writing original songs without one. Then, after being informed that there was another band with the name Last Chance, they changed their name to Farewell Forrester. Then, Matt's friend said she knew someone who played drums, his name was Joey Sortino. At the band's first practice together, they clicked right away and sounded like they had been playing for years.
