"Music is a passion, not an obligation. Its not to get you famous(in motivation), or to get you on MTV. And its nothing like grueling office job, definitely not a burden. If someone takes there music too seriously, the passion and the fun are overlooked, and your left with grief and dissapointment. Every band spends so much time doing there thing, and working to achieve their goals. But if your seldomly serious, and keep everything loose, you ease the pressure. And the work wont even seem like work. Its time, dedication, and intelligence, as well as a free, fun and awesome experience"
Selsius. It sounded cool enough to 7th graders to be a sufficient band name. No meaning, no point, just sounded cool. But as the band shifted through members, and realized the problems that occured, the word Selsius dropped its pointless meaning and developed a strong one at the same time. Combining syllables from "Seldomnly Serious" they decided to keep the name Selsius instead of making a new one. Same name, new meaning, new sound. The trio of John Kiernan, Vick Sa, and Joe Dent were the remaining members of the band after many many lineup changes. With their cover playing days in the past, Selsius wrote and recorded their first CD, "Far from Traditional". It had decent quality, and decent content, but the CD showed too much of their youth and inexperience, instead of their passion and dedication. After writing new material and playing several shows, Selsius realized that their sound was missing something. They needed a second guitarist to uplift the energy of the songs, and tighten up their rythms and melodies. After searching for months, and trying out unsucessful inquieries, an ad at guitar center led them to their new second guitarist, Alex Waight. Now the new quartet was ready to excell.
So here we are today, the four of us ready to go. Check us out around New Jersey rockin the Hizouse!!

What you like about being in a band? Nothing compares to how awesome it is to be in a band and to play shows. Unlike Sports, we write the rules to our game, and theres no limit to what we can do. Its the best way to express yourself without having to just say it. I love every second of it.
Any thanks? There are so many people that helped contribute to us. My Parents for all of their money and support, Everyone who has come to our shows from The Kumpf Variety Show, to today. Everyone who purchased Far From Traditional, everyone who donated a dollar to the band, and everyone whos supported us from day 1. I love you all so much!

How did you get into bass? My bud Mike Pellegrino invited me DTS with his fam for a couple days and we went to the boardwalk one day. On the Seaside boardwalk there's a music wheel thing with a bunch of prizes. I won very quickly and got my first bass, A Shredder (oh yeh). Mike played guitar and taught me lots about bass. So Mike Pell, thanks man.
How did you join Selsius? After Selsius had a feud with their ex bassist, they needed someone else. Knowing that I played and I was good friends with the boys at the time they asked me to play with them. In a little while, they asked me to be in the band. : )
What bands were you in before? None
What are bands that influence you? Mainly Blink 182 was what I listened to most and seeing them play in front of huge crowds made me want to join a band so I could experience the same.
What do you like about being in a band? Pretty much everything about it. I get to chill with my good friends, play music that I love, play shows for many cool people and seeing them go nuts for us.
Any thanks? Absolutely everyone who supports us in any way. Mainly my parents for helping out so much, Dayna/Katie/Steph/Courtney and Scott/Kev/Dudas. Dave/Mike S/ Jeff/Dan and the Garwood Girls plus you crazy Westfield girls. Everyone from out of town for coming like Vinny and Chris for supporting us always. Thanks everyone and I love you.
